Death of a Local Historian
A murder at the station, a secret from the Viking Age and four people with something to hide.
Beta test in Knivsta, Uppsala and Västerås
Walk & Solve is an interactive murder mystery where you explore real places, gather clues and try to uncover what really happened.
Played on your phone. Nothing to download.
How it works
All you need is a phone, comfortable shoes and a bit of curiosity.

Your phone shows where to go and how far you have left. When you arrive, GPS unlocks the crime scene.

Hold up your phone and turn around. The evidence appears in the camera view where it was found, and the witnesses are waiting to be questioned.

Compare what you found, work out who is lying and name the killer. Then you find out how it really happened.

Location scouts wanted
Every case is played in real places. Do you know a place that would suit a murder mystery? Take photos of it and tell us where it is and what makes it special. We use the photos and details when we write new cases.
About us
Walk & Solve started as an idea at a dinner table: a real murder mystery, but out in town instead of around the kitchen table. Every case is built on places that really exist and on local history, but the people and the crimes are made up.
The evidence in the game is made so that every time and every detail adds up. You do not need to know any history beforehand. Everything you need is in the finds and the interviews.
Right now we are testing the cases in Knivsta, Uppsala and Västerås together with beta testers. The cases are written in Swedish first, and English versions follow. In Sweden we are called Mordpromenad.
Questions

Allow about two hours and 3–5 kilometres. You walk at your own pace and can take a break whenever you like. The game is saved, so you can carry on later the same day.
A team is 2–6 people. Everyone in the team can follow the case on their own phone, or you can gather around one. If there are more of you, split into several teams and compare scores.

The Knivsta case suits players from about 12. It is exciting but not gory. Crime scenes are shown with chalk outlines and props, not injuries.
No. The cases are built on local history, but everything you need is in the finds and the interviews. If you get stuck, you can ask for a clue.
