Västerås The Final Stroke

Swimming legend Benke Ahlqvist is found dead in the reeds at Lögarängen on the morning of the town’s big swimming race. The police think he slipped during his night swim. But the prize money is gone, a witness is lying and the lifeguard has disappeared.

How the case begins

Saturday morning at Lögarängen. In two hours the starting gun was due to go for Mälarkvarten, the town’s cold-water race in open water. Instead, a jogger found the race director Benke Ahlqvist dead in the reeds at the water’s edge. The police’s first assessment is that he slipped on the rocks during his traditional night swim. But Benke had booked a meeting at 23:00, the prize money of 100,000 kronor is gone and the lifeguard Simon has not been seen since last night. Someone is lying. Find out who.
